Vinho Verde goes well with salads, grilled fish, lobster or sashimi and is incredible with fish tacos.
This wine is low in alcohol yet decidedly fresh, energetic and vibrant. Think pink grapefruit, gooseberry, lemon peel and blossom.
Vinho Verde is a well-known DOC in the Minho region of northwest Portugal. The quality of the wines made here are so fresh and light that they earn the moniker verde (green), which applies even to the red.
Rita Marques, (a young dynamic Portuguese winemaker) and Marc Kent, (long term cellarmaster of Boekenhoutskloof in South Africa) founded Companhia de Vinhos Invencível in 2020. The two winemakers, who had previously collaborated in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in South Africa, and in 2018 and 2019 in Portugal, now embrace a bigger commitment, acquiring an estate in Casais do Douro.
