This 100% Rolle (aka Vermentino) opens with a generous, lemon-gold hue and classic varietal aromas of grapefruit, yellow apple, and daffodil florals. Fuller in body than its Italian counterparts, this Rolle shows ample, melony fruit which counteracts the textbook zesty acidity and saline, mineral hints expected of the variety. A pleasing, almond-tinged finish concludes in what is a stylish, eminently gastronomic wine.

Enjoy as an apéritif or alongside shellfish, Mediterranean-style baked white fish and vegetables, and pastas topped with Parmesan or Pecorino cheese.

Housed in the heart of Cabardès, overlooking the city of Carcassonne, facing south, and facing the Pyrenees, Maison Ventenac covers 130ha of cultivated vines. Their philosophy has always been to desacralize wine. Their aim is that the simple pleasure of drinking wine remains accessible to all, without fuss or overbidding. Ventenac like to express themselves with single varietal cuvées. They bring together the aromatic expression of a grape variety on a terroir, a strong identity because it is monolithic, and therefore a certain obviousness when tasting. These wines leave a mark.

Resolutely militant, a little anarchist, "Les Dissidents" express without constraint what is considered to be the soul of Maison Ventenac. The best plots managed in the most natural way possible, prioritise the soils to better define them, select and produce wines. Here, no make-up: delicate ageing carried out in jars or casks. These wines are uncompromising, sharp, precise, direct. An uppercut … but the one that feels good! The one who wakes up. The one who tells you that everything is not standardised, that everything is not uniform but unique.
